Randy Travis's friends, fans, and fellow musicians are preparing to pay tribute to the living country music legend.
A Texas Heroes & Friends Tribute to Randy Travis will take place at the Texas Trust CU Theatre in Grand Prairie on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Travis and his wife Mary were recently interviewed by CBS News Texas about the upcoming show.
"We're going to have a kick-in-the-pants kind of time," she said. "We're going to pretend that someone left the gate open. It was a lot of fun."
She went on to say that they wanted to hold the show in Texas because it is "where we live, where we love."
It will feature a slew of local and national artists singing and covering Travis' songs.
While the concert is billed as a tribute to the legend, proceeds will benefit The Randy Travis Foundation.
Travis, who suffered a stroke in 2013, was left with right-side paralysis and aphasia.
